| whats the difference between macrocytic and megaloblastic anemia?

| no answer yet. i think i shall have to answer myself. all megaloblastic anemias r basicall macrocytic but every macrocytic anemia is not megaloblastic. an anemia might b macrocytic yet may not b megaloblastic megaloblastic essentially menas macroctic RBC's and mutilobed polys (as seen in folate or vit B12 deficiency anemia) however there r certain kinds of marocytic anemias in which marcocytic RBC's r seen yet the polys r basically normal. eg. congenital red cell hypoplasia (also called "Diamond-Blackfan anemia). in this disease macrocytic RBC's r seen but polys r normal( not megaloblastic)
