| Hi :?:::: 1st...i'd like to thank you for this great website 2nd:: i got some questions regarding Protein Synthesis....so any one know the answer...plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...replay with the answer 1) Does the SRP (Signal Recognition Particle) enters the ER, after it drags the emerging peptide and the free ribosome complex??? or it will be cleaved (the SRP-signal sequence complex)e, before the whole complex enters the ER??? 2)in the Translation Process, @ 1st the initiater tRNA which is called (tRNA met) will be attached to 40S complex (the small subunit) at the P-site...howcome that will happen???...because we know that P-site is part of the large subunit of the ribosome not the small one??? and thanX in advance Last edited by mhd_m37; 12-19-2009 at 08:57 PM. |

| Ok...I got it concerning the 1st question.... the answere is NO...because as soon as the ribosome gets attached to its receptor on the ER surface the SRP will give the energy needed to the signal peptide cleavage( hydrolysis or proteolysis )...and the enzyme which is responsible for that is called Signal peptidase enzyme...and the process of hydrolysis occur on the ER cytoplasmic surface. ok....now lets see who can helP with question # 2??? |
