I have suffered from a mild case of tonsil stones for a few years now. Every few months I would have one or two come up when i coughed really hard or something. They are typically the same color as most tonsil stones- a yellowish white color. I've never had more than one come up at once, but on one occasion, I had more than one come up in a day. Typically it only happens once every few months.
Last night I felt like I had a hair in the back of my throat, and when I went to look in the mirror, it looked like I had a dark colored nodule on my tonsil. After messing with it and coughing and stuff, I did have an average tonsil stone come out, but thats it. When I looked again, the dark nodule was still there. I took pictures to get a better look, and it looks to me almost like a very large tonsil stone lodged in there, just dark in color. I will post the pictures below. is this a deeply lodged tonsil stone, an infection, or something else entirely?
On a side note, my throat is not sore and I don't think my tonsils are particularly enlarged. I have no fever or any other sign of illness. The only symptom I have is feeling like a hair or something is stuck in the back of my throat, so it is slightly irritating. Below are two pictures zoomed in close so you can get a good view of the mass. I can take a picture less zoomed in if that will help.
Thank you!
