    Default THe New RNTCP guidelines

    Hi friends,

here is the latest change regarding the RNTCP (Rural National Tuberculosis Control Programme):

    Introduced on 1st April 2009

1.Earlier 3 weeks duration of cough was the criteria to screen for tuberculosis---- after the release of new guidelines
it is 2 weeks duration of cough..

Earlier 3 sputum samples were to be taken and analysed..
now only 2 sputum samples are to be looked for..

    2. The 2 sputum samples should be

    a.spot
    b.early morning sample.

3.STOP TB is the new logo... which also is based on principles of DOTS
