blackberry has a different operating system. just get a Palm or a Pocket PC since there are more available programs for these two OS... for pda-phone combo, you might want to look at treo line...

| i'm using O2 jam at the moment. it's quite cool. the latest model even has a small keyboard, like a mini-laptop. of coz, it comes with phone + PPC.

I have had several PDA's from an older clie to the Treo 650, palm tungsten T5, Tx, to the Dell Axim x51v and now I have the cingular 8525. it is the cingular version of this phone http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/handhelds/...9282128,00.htm i always check the user reviews for electronics and try to find people that love it and hate it. the problem that I have with the TYTN is the low resolution and the small screen. my x51v had a 3.7 inch screen and vga resolution. the TYTN has 2.8'' screen and qvga resolution. it makes a huge difference if you are reading ebooks, surfing the internet, or doing some flashcards. if you just wanted the pda phone for some quick reference of a medical dictionary, email and the likes then the TYTN is great. there is also the HTC Advantage which is a pda/phone with a 5 inch screen, keyboard, vga, gps. looks very cool all models will run any programs designed for PPC. good luck and maybe tell a little more on what is most important to you.

If you are don't need phone functionality i'd suggest Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket Loox c550 Pros: Big VGA screen(its great for reading djvu and pdf), fast processor you can watch 640x480 video without any conversion, Wi-Fi, bluetooth. Im using this device for a year already. And it's seems to be very balanced device in comparison for example with Dell axim x51v wich is called hercules for one hour. If you need GPS there is the same model with same characteristics + GPS called N560.

I agree that the axim x51v has subpar battery life. I have a spare battery that I carry around so it works out pretty well. The cradle has a spot to charge the spare and the device at the same time. combined I get about 4.5 hours of continuous use with high demand. It always gets me through the day and I use it for looking at flash cards, mp3, ebooks and such.

i think x51v is for the ppl who need super fast device for playing games and watching high definition video without coversion, x51v is overpowered. 90% of ppl dont need this.
