    FOR ACIDITY

    •After all three meals, take a small piece of jaggery and keep it in your mouth and suck.
    •Eat a cup of vanilla ice cream or drink a glass of cold milk to get heartburn and acidity relief within minutes.
    •Drink a glass of water with a teaspoon of baking soda.
    •1- 2 teaspoon juice of chebulic myroblan is taken daily is highly beneficial in the treatment of acidity and heart burn. For better results the juice can be mixed with equal amount of amla juice.
    •Keep a small piece of harad (Terminalia chebula) in your mouth and chew it after every meal.
    •Chew a few basil ( tulsi ) leaves to get relief from burning, nausea and gas.
    •To 1 ½ liters of water add 1 tsp Caraway seeds (shah jeera). Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Sip while warm. Have the concoction 2-3 times a day for 5-6 days.
    •Chew bubble-gum and acidity will disappear.This is an easy and best way to get rid of Acidity.


    FOR TOOTHACHE

    •Dip a swab of clean cotton in clove oil and place it under the aching tooth. It relieves pain instantly. This remedy helps to decrease infection due to its antiseptic properties.
    •Rinse your mouth out with hydrogen peroxide. This will kill the infection.
    •Clove oil applied to the cavity of the decayed tooth provides relief.
    •Place a piece of raw onion on the tooth.
    •Put ice cube on the aching tooth or on the nearest cheek for 15-20 minutes at least 3 or 4 times a day.
    •Rinse the mouth with some alcohol, such as vodka, to kill any infection.
    •The juice of wheat grass acts as an excellent mouthwash for tooth decay and cures toothaches. Wheat grass can be chewed with beneficial results. It draws out toxins from the gums and thus checks bacterial growth.
    •Burn some turmeric (haldi) sticks, make a fine powder and use as toothpowder.
    •Add some lime juice to asafetida (hing) powder. Soak a piece of cotton and hold it on the tooth and gum.
    •Boil 3-4 guava tree leaves in water and wait till it becomes luke warm. Make mouth full of this and wait for couple of seconds. Repeat this and this will relieve the tooth ache.
    •Gargle a glassful of water mixed with 1 tsp of salt after each meal and at bedtime.
    •Pour a few drops oil of oregano on the paining tooth or gum.
    •A mixture of a pinch of pepper powder and a quarter teaspoon of common salt is an excellent dentrifice. Its daily use prevents dental cavities, foul breath, bleeding from the gums, painful gums, and toothaches. It cures the increased sensitiveness of the teeth. A pinch of pepper powder mixed with clove oil can be put on the cavities to alleviate the toothache.
    •Asafoetida grounded in lemon juice cures dental ache. Heat the solution, soak a cotton swab and place it in the cavity of the tooth to relieve pain quickly.


    FOR CONSTIPATION

    •Home remedies to help relieve your child's constipation, and how to help prevent it.
    •Ripe bael fruit is regarded as best of all laxatives. It cleans and tones up the intestines. It should not be taken at a stretch.
    •Guava when eaten with seeds provides roughage to diet can give relief from constipation
    •Take folic acid. An insufficient intake of folic acid can lead to constipation.
    •Children should also get plenty of liquids to drink everyday, especially clear liquids such as fruit juices and water. When a child is constipated, push lots of water!
    •Soak 50 grams of cassia pulp in water overnight take with 25 grams of water in the morning.
    •Drinking lemon juice mixed with warm water two to three times a day eases constipation.
    •Drink water from a copper vessel and leave it overnight. Drinking this water in the morning helps regulating the bowel movement.
    •Another natural remedy for constipation is to add a little extra sugar or some honey a glass of milk. Drink twice a day.
    •Ginger tea is a great home remedy for constipation. It helps start bowel movement.
    •Drink one liter of warm water and walk around for a few minutes early morning.

    •Six drops of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) and six drops of thyme (Thymus spp.) diluted by 1 oz of almond oil, olive oil, or another carrier oil can relieve constipation when used to massage the abdomen.
    •Other fruits specific for constipation are papaya and figs. Half a medium-sized papaya should be eaten at breakfast for it to act as a laxative. Both fresh and dry figs have a laxative effect. Four or five dry figs should be soaked overnight in a little water and eaten in the morning.


    FOR INFLUENZA

    •Garlic is an excellent remedy for influenza. It is useful as a general antiseptic and the patient should take as much as he can bear.
    •The juice of grapefruit has proved useful in this disease as it tones up the body and the digestive tract.
    •Take eupatorium perfoliatum if you have pain in your bones and eyeballs.
    •Another effective remedy for this disease is the green leaves of the basil plant. About one gram of these leaves should be boiled along with some ginger in half a litre of water till about half the water is left. This decoction should be taken as tea. It gives immediate relief.
    •Few drops of Eucalyptus in your air humifier cleans air against influenza (Bird Flu) germs in the air.
    •If the fever is too high, take catnip tea and ½ tsp. of lobeliatincture every 4 hours. Do not use if pregnant or breast-feeding and do not give to a child less than one year old.
    •Onion is also an effective remedy for influenza. Equal amounts of onion juice and honey should be mixed, and three or four teaspoons of this mixture should be taken daily in the treatment of this disease.
    •Turmeric is valuable in influenza. A teaspoon of turmeric powder should be mixed in a cup of warm milk and taken three times a day. It will prevent complications arising from influenza, and also activate the liver which becomes sluggish during the attack.

    FOR DANDRUFF

    •The use of a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice for the last rinse, while washing the hair, is another useful remedy. This not only leaves the hair glowing but also removes stickiness and prevents dandruff.
    •Aloe vera dandruff cure - with aloe vera gel. About 10-15 minutes before you wash your hair, rub a lot of aloe vera gel into your scalp. leave it on for 10 minutes, and shampoo your hair like you regularly do. if you do this everyday the dandruff will stay away.
    •Soak fenugreek (methi) seeds in yogurt overnight and apply the curd on your scalp for half an hour before washing in the morning.
    •Massage the scalp with almond oil. Dip a towel in boiling water and wrap it around the hair. Repeat it thrice or four times when the towel gets cold.
    •Rub olive oil on scalp, let sit for several minutes and wash off.
    •Beets have been found useful in dandruff. Both tops and roots should be boiled in water and this water should be massaged into the scalp with the finger tips every night. White beet is better for this purpose.
    •Instead of shampooing, massage handfuls of baking soda into the hair and scalp to absorb oil and to loosen dead skin on scalp. Rinse thoroughly, use no other shampoos. While initially the hair may seem dry, after several weeks, dandruff will be gone and hair will be smooth and shiny.
    •Mix 100 g witch hazel and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice in 200 ml water. Shampoo your hair and apply with cotton to the scalp when the hair are still wet. Repeat several times until the dandruff is treated.
    •Make a shampoo by mixing 100 g each of amla (Indian goose berry ), reetha, and shikakai, and boil in two litre of water until the liquid reduces to half. Use this shampoo for one month. Dandruff will vanish and your hair will become thick.
    •Give your hair a hot steam bath. Massage hot oil with a hot damp towel and leave it on the head like a turban so that the steam can fight dandruff. You may use two towels for this purpose.
    •Boil a handful of neem leaves in 4 teacups of water. After cooling and filtering, use for rinsing hair.


    FOR SORE-THROAT

    •Gargle with warm salt water.
    •Mango bark is efficacious in the treatment of a sore throat and other throat disorders. Its fluid, which is extracted by grinding, can be applied locally with beneficial results. It can also be used as a throat gargle. This gargle is prepared by mixing 10 ml of the fluid extract with 125 ml of water.
    •Add enough honey to balance the lemon juice and make it drinkable (maybe a tablespoon). This also helps soothe the throat.
    •Chives and scallions are helpful for a soar throat when simmered in water for 5 minutes. Drink as a tea.
    •Tamarind is also beneficial in the treatment of this condition. Tamarind water should be used as a gargle. A powder of the dry leaves and an infusion of the bark can also be used for preparation of a gargle for treating sore throat.
    •An old home remedy for sore throats. Add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, a pinch of cayenne pepper, juice of 1/4 a lemon, and 1 teaspoon of honey to a cup. Add 1 cup of hot water and stir. Drink up to 4 cups a day.
    •Betony is a useful astringent which reduces inflammation. Make a tea and use as a gargle.
    •Stop smoking and avoid secondhand smoke.
    •Boil some pomegranate rinds and drink as a tea. The pomegranate contains astringents.
    •Once you get rid of the sore throat, get rid of your toothbrush, it may give you the sore throat again, and you don't want to get it back, so time to go to the drugstore and get a new one.
    •Boil a pint of water and add ½ teaspoon of powdered goldenseal root. Drink hot. Goldenseal is well known for its antibiotic properties.


    FOR BAD BREATH (HALITOSIS)

    •A cleaned colon will often alleviate bad breath.
    •Chew some cardamom seeds to sweeten your breath. The aromatic flavour in cardamom is a breath freshner.
    •Tea made from Fenugreek (methi) seeds is also beneficial in bad breath and bad odor.
    •Wash the tongue with baking soda dissolved in warm water to reduce the acidity in your mouth making a less-friendly environment for the bacteria to grow.
    •Clove (Eugenia aromaticum) It is good for bad breath caused by rotting food in mouth, used in old time mouth wash and powders, herb can be drying.
    •Unripe guava is useful in halitosis. It is rich in tannic, malic, oxalic, and phosphoric acids as well as calcium, oxalate, and manganese. Chewing it is an excellent tonic for the teeth and gums. It helps cure bleeding from gums and stops bad breath. Chewing tender leaves of guava tree also stops bleeding from gums and bad breath.
    •Take acidophilus or chew uemboshi plums to improve intestinal health.
    •Brush the teeth and, very importantly, the tongue and floss once per day.
    •Put a 1 or 2 cloves in your mouth. You can chew it or simply leave. Don't worry if you swollow it, it is harmless.
    •Rinse with a glass of water and the juice of half a lemon after each meal.


    FOR OBESITY

    •Every morning drink a glass full of water mixed with lime juice and some honey.
    •The leaves of jujube or Indian plum are another valuable remedy for obesity. A handful of leaves should be soaked overnight in water and this water should be taken in the morning, preferably on an empty stomach. This treatment should be continued for at least one month to achieve beneficial results.
    •Mint is very beneficial in losing weight. Have some salads, vegetables with it.
    •One or two ripe tomatoes taken early morning as a substitute for breakfast, for a couple of months, are considered a safe method of weight reduction. They also supply the food elements essential to preserve health.
    •Eating 10-12 fully grown curry leaves every morning for 3 to 4 months may be helpful in weight loss for obese and overweight people.
    •Drink a cup of water with 3 teaspoons lime juice, 1/4 teaspoon powdered black pepper, and a teaspoon of honey every day for three months.
    •Cabbage is considered to be an effective home remedy for obesity. It contains a valuable content called tartroric acid, which inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat.
