Should I Take The Homeopathic Remedy Oscillococcinum (Oscillo) For The Flu?

      Answer:

This remedy is one of the homeopathic remedies in which the active ingredient is diluted to a very, such that there's a very small amount of the active ingredient left. So as far as I'm able to tell, taking this homeopathic remedy would be probably equivalent to drinking water.

And drinking water is okay. That's a good way to keep yourself hydrated while you have a viral infection, but to my knowledge there's no clear evidence of benefit from this. However, if you think it makes you feel better, I'm not opposed to your using it because water is good.

What Natural Approaches Do You Recommend For Cold Symptoms Such As A Cough Or Sore Throat?

      Answer:

Well there aren't very many studies that have examined the usefulness of natural remedies that have found a beneficial effect. So there have been a lot of things obviously over the years that have been proposed as potentially beneficial for common cold symptoms. But when you try to study those under carefully controlled conditions, it's a little hard to show any real benefit. The one thing I think that has a little bit of scientific evidence that supports it is the use of honey as a treatment for cough and perhaps sore throat.

So in that situation, there's a little bit of evidence that honey will reduce the frequency of cough. Other than that there really aren't natural remedies that you can take that will be helpful for common cold symptoms.

      Here's a thought for you...

Homeopathy works on the energetic system and not the physical system.
Homepathy does not work in the same manner as drugs, herbs, etc.

I have used this remedy and if taken as directed at the onset of symptoms does work very well in most cases
