Default Uploading n changing file extension

    Quick question:

I was just wondering, when I upload I don't Rar my uploads. Lets say its a pdf i'm uploading it stays .pdf, i don't make it rar. Whats the advantage of Winraring/archiving files rather than keeping it in its original file extension?

    so many advantages powel
if multiple files are there then it is much better to compress it to rar

and for single file also as some extensions are not allowed or detectable by some uploading site..

and much more which u can see in any rar file uploaded by me

Other 3 reasons: the size is smaller, you can password protect it and if you forget to 'right-click' and 'save as' when the pdf is very large there is no risk that the browser hangs (unless the rar file is renamed to html).
