Thread: PLEASE HELP ME (theory)

Am a final year mbbs student. I never get good marks in theory papers. Please suggest me some tips to get nice marks in theory papers. Thanks.

well, just try to understand, dont try to remember or mug up.
read in depth and from standard books first and after u understand, you can read from anybook or ur own notes during exams..

No not specifically for surgery. I want for all final year subjects. I mean i want to know some key points to get good marks. Technique of writing,whether to write answers of management in chart forms or not,use of diagrams,should i write in points whole answer or as given in books etc..

Yes, you need to be more precise. Pages doesnt matter (but that doesnt mean u shd not write more), flowcharts, diagrams, tables etc will be more attractive and examiner will read it rather than paragraphs..

Second write in points rather than in paragraphs like in essays..make all possible headings & underline them..Be more precise..More you'll read from standard textbooks and understand, more u'll remember & will be able to write in these ways..

in medicine, harrison & CMDT has many flowcharts,tables etc..learn them..in surgery also,schwartz has many flowcharts..in Gynac, Novak & Wiliams have some nice charts..in pedia, nelson..if u dont have enough time, dont read theory from this books, but just chk important topics asked in ur university & chk highlighted text , tables, charts etc of those topics form these books..
