I think if it's an inguinal hernia an indirect one is more congnetial while the direct one is acquired
and the umblical hernia is more congenital
also a congential hernia is usually noticed by the parents. rather than the pt him/herself
also a diaphragmatic hernia is congenital ..
I mean no specific way. but you can pick it up easily during history taking
But if we get case of indirect acquired then? patient presents at later age then? [how can we know?]
