Arrow Result in Percentage or in Percentile..??

We are given our results in Percentage uptill now..
Is it a proper method..??
Should It be Percentile method or not..??

for our in house exams we are given our results as a percentage. we are also given the mean and standard deviation. so we can approximate our percentile but it is not given explicitly. I like this way because it fosters a sense of community and competition at the same time.

I would think percentage gives you a more objective measure of how you did in the test as opposed to percentile. Percentile basically compares you w/ the other examinees so you could do better or worse in the exams, depending on whether you're up against a brilliant or mediocre batch, right?
