We have our university examination next week. Preparing for it . Community medicine is going on . Does anyone have any suggestions to learn C.M. in an easy manner

All the common stuff, how diagnose and how to treat. That's how I've done it, sciences are all good but that's not what has been required of us in community medicine. Might be completely different for you though.

I'm also reading PSM..Started environment & health today.

Now I'm in MCH. When are your exams?

Prilims in Jan-08 and Uni. Exam in March probably.

What are the these exams anyways?

Community Medicine is a lot like Internal Medicine, but the diseases are easier to treat, (e.g. low back pain, or acute tonsillopharyngitis) Books such as Internal medicine On Call or baby Harrison's may help a lot.

Prevention and control of most of the NCD and CD is the most important part..

MCH- consist of nearly 50% of paper 2

Environment and health- Water pollution and Purification is important, chlorination, mosquito control and fleas control!

yes i m agree with u ...main stress shud be on prevention & control including some epidemiology of that disease...
in prevention ...vaccine is most imp part,it have imp in practical exam also like viva,spoting about dose..age..route..how much it is preventive...

questions like which vaccine shud not give before 2 yrs of age???
with which vaccine vit A dose recommended???

but i still did not get answer one question....
pattern of disease in a community is known as...........
i wrote iceberg concept of disease.is it right?
