4] Shrilanka ranks first in eyedonation in the world.
5] Corneal transplantation is the most successful organ transplantation as it is avascular.
6] there are 171 eye banks spread over 17 States
7] In India the first eye bank was established in 1943 at Madras, the first corneal transplantation was done in Dhanda , Indore in 1960
